Smoked Salmon
This costs a small fortune to buy at the store. You can make it yourself for a fraction and it can even be frozen to use later.
Equipment
- 1 Smoker
Ingredients
- 1 Large Salmon fillet cut into 6 inch chunks
- 2 Cups Brown Sugar
- ½ Cup Salt I prefer kosher
- ½ Cup Crab Boil or Old Bay Seasoning
Instructions
- Optional: catch your own Salmon
- Remove skin from filet if still attached
- Place sugar, salt, seasoning in a dish that you can cover with warm water and mix thoroughly to dissolve sugar and salt.
- Add fish, be sure it is covered with the mixture. You can add more water if needed.
- Cover dish and let sit overnight in the fridge.
- Next day, smoke with your favorite wood on low heat 90-120 minutes until done.
